In this piece, I use colours that give uplifting and playful energy, not only for myself but for others to experience, I let them guide me along with my own intuition- it is deliberately not symmetrical because I enjoy the haphazard imbalance and playful features of abstract natural shapes and it gives a unique contrast with the bold and concrete shapes of the carpark. I layer paints to give raised surfaces inviting people to touch and play with the lines and shapes for themselves allowing them to be a part of the artwork. 💫🙏〰️🎨

Spent some sunshine beamed up hours on Sunday immersed with colour, amazing energy and company, light inter-splashed with some 90s musical beats🎵 painting love like (our crustacean pals who have a super sturdy backbone and root chakra and are colourful wowsas with electromagnetic waves 🎨 ) Lobsters🦞.

Colours 🎨used in this piece are chosen intuitively which are in balance with the environmental background, energy and the light of the area. Being aware of how the natural light & shadow reflects, retracts and refracts (chiaroscuro in artsy terms) on certain points from the wall offers varied perspectives and textures.

The human hand is painted and expressed in a shape that references the universal sign for heart which symbolizes love. This is recognized globally for showing compassion, care & devotion and all the yummy feels when vibing, seeing, sensing, tasting, being, touching love-in whatever way that is for you. The fingers of the hand are reaching out towards the curved lobster welcoming a connection with it's claws together in a gentle warm & inviting hold.🫂
In Japanese and Chinese culture, Lobsters are represented as ‘the dragon of the sea’ or ‘the old man of the sea’ symbolizing strength, good fortune, longevity and prosperity.

I created this in response to an open commission who shared the same love of swimming, the ocean, and of the natural world around with me. Symbolism and personification of wildlife, natural world interests me, I try and incorporate these meanings in a connective and abstract way.

Airone The Heron:
I painted a Heron in place of human head because a Heron's symbolism refers to tranquility and stillness for the human mind. This is something that perhaps doesn't come easy for some and I would like to remind us all that we all need some stillness for growth. The spiritual totem of Herons symbolize determination because they wade through marshes and ponds which represents obstacles through life's journey, but gives us the strength to never give up 🙌💪

Saba 🐢: do you have Turtability? Want some? I flipping love Turtles, so I had to include one in obvs. Turtles are often represented as a symbol of the world and of the Earth. Spiritually they refer back to ancient wiseries of our ancestors-blooming mind blowing ain't it. Turtles also teach us grounding, even in moments of disturbances and chaos. They remind us to slow down, pacing ourselves with determination, persistence and emotional strength, and understanding. 🤲

Olyiah the 🐙. Octopus's are super intelligent in the seaworld. They fascinate me! Their totem symbolizes purity, emotional intelligence, psychic and creativity abilities. The octopus spirit guide is also known to be symbolic of the spiritual psyche and inspires others to channel theirs. Basically peeps, you are all inspiring, keep sharing and raising each other up♥️

The Ocean's Medusa: 🌱Sea Grass Head. Sea grasses are the only flowering plants able to live in seawater. They thrive well in large seagrass communities. It has been calculated that seagrass is responsible for 15% of the ocean’s total carbon absorption. Globally, 30,000km2 of seagrass has been lost in the last couple of decades which is equal to 18% of the global area. @thewildlifetrusts That's not cool, the decline is hugely caused by human action. So peeps, educate, share and act and be kind to others whilst doing so.

This work is to raise awareness for those who are deaf and hard of hearing..To create a colourful and inclusive space for gestures and silent voices. I am totally deaf in my left ear and hard of hearing in my right, I wear hearing aids, yet often find communication and conversations difficult to translate. I rely on other's body language and gestures hugely within conversations...I and others who are hard of hearing sometimes can come across as being nonchalant, distant,quiet or perhaps rude...it's not that-rather it's the opposite-just takes us a while longer to process what has been said sometimes. I created a sentence which combines American, British and Universal sign language that means and expresses Love, Hope, Connection and Kindness.

A project aiming to add positivity and hope to a part of Plymouth often neglected, and overlooked. This is a community collaborated project funded by Stronger North Stonehouse & Nudge via Sparks fund.

I painted two faces of the rock-the dark (moonlight night scene) and light (sunshine seascape) with uplifting phrases in order to promote positive mental attitudes for passers by, members of the public and for those who live in the area.
