Tulus The Turtle. Original on Canvas. Tulus’s name is taken from the Malay and Indonesian word ‘Tulus’ meaning sincere. Turtles are precious, wonderful and truly sincerely selfless givers to the land and the sea because they are vegetable grazers and help cultivate new life by doing so. They are honest, strong and have a heartfelt and genuine existence in the world.

I painted Tulus using inspiration from a turtle that was just cruising chillingly by my side me whilst swimming in the Ocean in the Gilli Islands, Indonesia many moons ago. They are hugely threatened by the loss of nesting and feeding habitats, excessive egg collection, fishery-related mortality, illegal wildlife trade, pollution, plastics and coastal development. Soo please share the love for Tulus and the Turtle communities alike. Help me in raising awareness of these absolute legends of the sea.
