Zelezabiya-EverGreen Africa. Charity Artwork

£400.00

Meet the beautiful, courageous and selfless Zelezabiya
Original on Canvas: Mixed Media (found/chipped glass mosaic pieces on canvas)
25% of the proceeds will go directly to the NGO Charity Evergreen Africa.
16”x16”
This is a collaborative piece with the wonderful charity Evergreen Africa. Due to the death of Zelezabiya daughter's husband she took in her daughter's children (her daughter remarried and her new husband refused to take in her children from her previous marriage). At this time Zelezabiya was living in a tumbledown shack with very little food and money. With the help of Evergreen Africa she became a beneficiary to their goat programme which taught her new skills into how to look after a goat and farm them.

This in turn enabled her to gain an income, enough to feed and clothe her daughter's children and to pay for their school fees. Rearing and selling her Goat offspring also helped her pay for medicine whilst she was in hospital who do not offer any kind of aftercare. For Zelezabiya, Evergreen Africa's goat programme saved her life and gave her hope in caring for her daughter's children.

There can be so much uncertainty and instability in this world. But there is always hope. If you would like to know more about Evergreen Africa then please click their tag link or contact me.
